CWB Chicago reported on a shooting incident in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood, highlighting ShotSpotter technology’s crucial role in the police response. The system alerted officers to the exact location 90 seconds before the first 911 calls, leading to a swift response to a home where five victims, including three children, were shot. CPD Deputy Chief Don Jerome described the incident as a “personal dispute,” resulting in two adult fatalities and three critically injured children. Upon their arrival, responding police officers tried to save the victims by administering first aid, including CPR, tourniquets, and pressure bandages. Police continue to investigate the incident.
