Sikeston Department of Public Safety to use gunshot detection system

KBSI 23 reported on a decision by the Sikeston City Council, approving the use of ShotSpotter in that city. A grant will cover the cost of the program for three years. The system is reportedly set to be deployed across a total of two square miles. “It should enhance our abilities to find these scenes of these shootings that sometimes go unreported,” explained Sikeston Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Jim McMillen.
